1 Reservation: contact us
From Monday to Friday (except Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, substituted holidays, and first and last days of the year).
Make your reservation from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
2 Requirements :
(1) Persons who have a valid foreign driver’s license.
(2) Have stayed more than 3 months (90 days) in the issuing country after obtaining or issuing the license.
※ This requirement of 3 months (90 days) refers to the period of stay in the issuing country of the license which verifies its validity.
※ If it is proven that you have stayed more than 1 year in total in the issuing country after obtaining the license, the learner period will be exempted (you will not have to drive your vehicle with the learner sign (WAKABA MARK) or you can drive a moped with another passenger).

3 Necessary documents and other things to bring:
Depending on the issuing country and/or the way of obtaining the license, the required documents vary. Please ask when booking.
(1) Valid foreign license (expired license if you have one)
(2) Your license history certificate issued by the licensing authority (photocopies and photos are not accepted), etc.
(3) Valid passport (and all previous ones in your possession):
People who have passed through the automatic immigration gate at the airport, or have arrived from a European Union country where entry or exit stamps are not affixed, or have dual nationality (includes the person who was born outside the country that issued their license), it is required to present other
documents that support your stay in the issuing country of the license because with only a passport you cannot verify your stay in the issuing country.
(4) Translation of foreign license into Japanese:
Only translations made by these offices will be accepted:
Embassy, Consulate or JAF(Japan Automobile Federation: Tel 045‐482‐ 1255).
(5) Authenticated copy of the “JUMINHYO” home certificate:
Your permanent address must be verified (Honseki or nationality if you are a foreign citizen), It must be issued in the previous 6 months by local governments.
(6) Residence Card or Special Permanent Residence Certificate if you are a foreign citizen.
(7) A passport photo:
The size is 3.0cm×2.4cm, taken in the last 6 months (from the front with the head uncovered and with a plain background. It must be seen from the face to below the shoulders).
(8) Japanese license (if you have one) :
Current and expired Japanese driver’s license (or driver’s permit from the US base in Japan)
(9) Overseas (international) driving license (if you have one)
(10) Lenses (if needed)
(11) Cost:
It varies according to the type of license, or whether or not you have to take the road test. Ask when you book.
(12) If you have difficulty communicating in Japanese, please come with a Japanese interpreter.
